Families of Somalia captives release statement

Ahead of the first anniversary on Sunday, August 23, of the kidnapping in Mogadishu of Canadian Amanda Lindhout and Australian Nigel Brennan we issued the following statement today on behalf of the families of the two journalists...

"Together, the two families continue to work tirelessly to secure Nigel's and Amanda's safe release. With little outside support, the families, who have been united as one throughout this horrendous ordeal, continue to do everything and anything to gain the earliest possible release for their loved ones Amanda and Nigel. Our thoughts and all our love are with Amanda and Nigel, today, just as they have been for the past 365 days, and just as they will be until they are safely home with us. In issuing this brief joint statement the families hope that the media will respect their wishes to be left alone during this particularly emotional time."

I had the privilege of meeting Amanda's uncle in Alberta, Canada...a wonderful servant/man of God.

It is essential that we honor the family wishes at this time and pray (only) earnestly for the safe release of Amanda and Nigel; may their captors hearts be changed and moved to a resolution for the benefit of all concerned.

In Christ's name I pray, Amen!

It’s a great damage to us and every journalist in this world the captive of Amanda and Nigel who are still remaining the hands of those who don’t know humanity and respect. Journalist are the ones who broadcast the really situation of every nation if they are kidnapped and killed who will give picture to the rest of the world.

We have the same problem and the same worries with their families we pray for Allah to be freed as safely.
