December 4, 1994, in Karachi, PakistanSalahuddin, editor of Urdu-language weekly Takbeer, was fatally shot by two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle. The assailants ambushed him outside the paper's offices. In his editorials, he was very critical of the Mohajir Quami Movement, a Karachi-based party supported by many Muslim migrants from India.
